Leading Thunderbird Lodge is a 15 bed residential youth treatment facility located near Fort Qu’Appelle, SK. The Lodge offers a 12 week treatment program for First Nation and Inuit youth who are experiencing challenges with alcohol, drug and solvent abuse. The Lodge’s culturally based treatment program is designed for male youth from across Canada who are between the ages of 12-17 years. The treatment program is holistic and based on the Medicine Wheel Model, providing growth and development in the areas of: mental, social, physical and spiritual well-being. Specific components of programming include:
- pre and post assessments
- individual and group counseling
- clinical consults
- therapeutic recreation
- classroom education
- cultural and spiritual teachings
- life skills
- community outreach (presentations, educational sessions)
- aftercare
