About
Governance
The File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council is an incorporated organization. The Tribal Council maintains a holistic view of delivering social, economic, and governance programs and services driven with, by, and for our citizens, and rooted in our Inherent and Treaty Rights.
The Tribal Council and affiliated entities operate under the guidance of a board of directors, which is known as our Executive Council. The Executive Council is made up of the Chiefs of our member First Nations. The Tribal Chief serves as the sole employee of the Executive Council and has the delegated authority of leading in the management and oversight for the administration and operation of the entire organization. The Tribal Council also has a Life Speakers Council, who are known as Senators. They provide input and insight based on their respective wealth of knowledge and experience.
