The File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council (FHQTC) is a dynamic and progressive organization that provides a range of programs and health services which serve eleven First Nations throughout Southern Saskatchewan within the Treaty Four Territory. The position will work as part of the Miko-Mahikan Outreach Team, located in Fort Qu’Appelle, SK.

The Outreach Nurse is an integral part of the FHQ Health Services Program and works under the supervision of the Miko-Mahikan Team Lead to assist in implementing the goals of FHQTC Health Services. This position uses their nursing and teaching skills to effectively assist clients and families to engage in addressing their own health status, recognizing that they are the expert. Working in the harm reduction and rights-based philosophy, this position will assist people to achieve stabilized health, and to improve their quality of life and meet their own goals.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRPNS).
  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience.
  • Experience working in a supportive living environment and with homelessness.
  • Knowledge of HIV, harm reduction and the needs of persons living with, at risk or affected by HIV or HCV is an asset.
  • Public speaking and presentation experience is desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and respect of, and ability to work within First Nations Traditional and Spiritual Institutes.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • CPIC & vulnerable sector check

Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (7.5 hrs./day). Flexibility may be required due to operational requirements.

Rate of Pay/Benefits:
$89,177 – $100,913
