Care Aide – Red Eagle Lodge Senior Care Home

 Red Eagle Lodge Senior Care Home on Pasqua First Nation is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals responsible for providing high quality care to our residents. Working directly under the Clinical Supervisor the care aide provides personal care and activities of daily living for clients/residents to encourage optimum level of functioning.

The successful candidate will provide a positive, professional company image with all internal and external contacts, maintain confidentiality, discretion, tact, diplomacy, and flexibility in their daily work routine. Our residents deserve the best, so we are seeking someone to join our team who will work together to provide our residents with quality, value, and a clear choice of a safe comfortable place to call home. 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Helping residents with leisure activities 
  •  Ensuring the health, safety, welfare, and independence of residents 
  • Assisting and satisfying the social and emotional needs of residents 
  • Documenting and recording daily care reports which may include resident incident reports, restraint monitoring, and medication administration. 
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Ensure resident confidentiality at all times 
  • Ability to follow and carry out aspects of a resident’s unique care plan 
  •  To practice his/her job in a safe manner for both self and the resident 
  • To ensure that Red Eagle Lodge Senior Care Home policies and procedures are adhered to at all times. 
  • Promotes the Mission and Values of Red Eagle Lodge Senior Care Home 
  • Interacts and communicates 

Qualifications & Requirements:

 

• Current Continuing Care Aid Certificate, or enrolled in program not required but an asset 

• Current First Aid and CPR Level C 

• Previous working experience in personal care home or long term care an asset 

• Awareness of cultural sensitivity and differences 

• Knowledge of and support of First Nations culture and traditions 

• Experience working with First Nations communities 

• Covid Vaccine’s and Boosters are required 

• Valid driver’s license and driver’s abstract 

• Acceptable CPIC & Vulnerable Sector Check
