First Nations Family Support Centre Family Support Worker

  • Provide confidential support, crisis intervention, and referral services for participating families.
  • Conduct home visits with participants to ensure ongoing support systems remain in place.
  • Offer comprehensive social, economic, spiritual, and emotional support.
  • Advocate for families and ensure referrals are established for additional required services.
  • Work in close consultation with staff to maintain standards and quality service delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide confidential support, crisis intervention, and referral services for participating families.

  • Conduct home visits with participants to ensure ongoing support systems remain in place.

     
  • Offer comprehensive social, economic, spiritual, and emotional support.

     
  • Advocate for families and ensure referrals are established for additional required services.

     
  • Work in close consultation with staff to maintain standards and quality service delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Social Work or a related discipline (a combination of education and experience may be considered).

     
  • Certifications: Safe Food Handling, WHMIS, CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention techniques (including Physical Applied Response).

     
  • Sector Knowledge: Knowledge of the Saskatchewan First Nations Child and Family Services Standards of Care Manual, the Saskatchewan Residential Services Act, the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and local Regina community programs.

  • Skills & Experience: Experience in group programming development, facilitation, conducting assessments, case management, and treatment plan development.

  • Cultural Competency: Strong understanding of First Nations values, culture, traditions, and governance.

  • Requirements: Valid driver’s license and own vehicle; ability to pass security screening and maintain confidentiality.
