POSITION SUMMARY:
Tatanka Najin School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Grade 4 & 5 Split Classroom Teacher to join its K–9 school community on Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation. The successful candidate will support students with diverse learning needs and help ensure inclusive, student-centred education practices are in place throughout the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement instructional plans aligned with curriculum outcomes.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Use differentiated instruction and accommodations to meet diverse learning needs.
- Assess student progress and communicate effectively with families and staff.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and behaviour.
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to enhance student learning.
- Incorporate Dakota perspectives and community values into teaching practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Education degree and valid Saskatchewan teaching certification.
- Experience working with students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Knowledge of accommodations and individualized learning plans is a strong asset.
- Experience with or ability to complete the Acadience Assessment for English Language Arts is an asset.
- Strong classroom management skills and a positive, student-centred approach.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
