The File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council (FHQTC), on behalf of Ocean Man First Nation, invites applications for a passionate and committed Learning Resource Teacher at the Ocean Man Education Centre.
This full-time term position will begin August 24, 2026, offering the chance to help shape a culturally relevant, land-based, and student-focused learning environment in a supportive and inspiring setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possess excellent communication skills including written, oral and interpersonal skills
- Maintain professional judgement, confidentiality is imperative
- Possess teamwork, cooperation, planning and monitoring skills while working with a team
- Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and be able to work with minimum supervision
- Identify and support students with diverse learning needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized learning plans (ILPs), intervention plans, and accommodations.
- Keep detailed records and files of students’ needs and adaptations
- Provide direct instruction to individual students and small groups requiring additional academic support.
- Support students in developing literacy, numeracy, social-emotional, and executive functioning skills.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on assessment data
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master of Education would be preferred, or combination of 5 years’ relative work experience in Intensive Needs and Bachelor of Education would be considered.
- Registered and in good standing with the Saskatchewan Professional Regulatory Board.
- Criminal Record check with a vulnerable sector search
- Valid Driver’s license
- Knowledge of Nakoda language and culture is an asset
