Applications are invited for a full-time Special Education Teacher at the Peepeekisis Pesakastew School starting in December 2024 -June 2025 with possible extension. The Peepeekisis Pesakastew is seeking an enthusiastic and creative teacher who is willing to join an incredible staff who bring experience, endless energy, and devotion to teaching aboriginal youth.

The successful candidate needs to be highly organized and able to develop a safe, stimulating environment that actively engages the students to learn. They will need to have experience in curriculum development.

Peepeekisis Pesakastew School is a K to 12 school, the school is located 19 kilometers east of Balcarres, Saskatchewan on Highway 10.

Qualifications:

• Understand Tiered intervention model and your role in it;
• Able to work with contractors for services: Speech, Ed psych. Art therapy etc..
• Able to follow through on the reporting and paperwork involved;
• Possess excellent communication skills including written, oral and interpersonal skills;
• Have initiative and judgment, confidentiality is imperative;
• Possess teamwork and cooperation and planning, and monitoring skills;
• Possess commitment to learning;
• Have a good understanding of First Nations cultures, traditions;
• Must provide a Criminal Record check, Vulnerable Sector Check;
• Provide a Valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate;
• Must have the skills and ability to relate to students and be sensitive to their needs;
• Promote a positive behavioral learning environment;
