The File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council, in partnership with the Town of Fort Qu’Appelle, invites all nations, community members, and organizations to participate in the annual Treaty 4 Parade! Held as part of the annual Treaty 4 Gathering commemorating the signing of Treaty 4 on September 15, 1874, this event brings the community together to showcase creativity, culture, and unity.

This year’s parade theme is “SUSTAINABILITY.” Participants are encouraged to share their vision of sustainability—maintaining and protecting resources, systems, knowledge, and ways of life to support communities today while ensuring they remain strong for future generations.

The parade takes place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM. Float set-up and arrival begins at 8:30 AM, with all entries required to be lined up no later than 9:00 AM to be eligible for judging. Parade entries will line up on Central Avenue (one block south of the tennis courts) in Fort Qu’Appelle, and the route will conclude at the Bert Fox Community High School parking lot.

Important Safety Rules:

• Candy cannot be thrown from floats or vehicles.

• Entries distributing candy must have volunteers walking alongside the float to hand it out safely.
