POSITION SUMMARY:
Tatanka Najin School is looking for motivated, self-starting Educational Assistants. Educational Assistants provide support services that help students achieve their academic, social, physical, and personal potential. They assist students with intensive needs in personal care, life skills and experiences, academic support, communication, and behavioural support as directed by teachers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with academic, social, physical, and personal development.
- Assist students with intensive needs in areas such as personal care, life skills, academic support, communication, and behavioural support.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, students, staff, and parents.
- Support engagement, participation, and success in school.
- Document and maintain records as required.
- Remain flexible with assignment duties based on student and school needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
- Valid Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence is an asset.
- Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma is an asset.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED training are assets.
- Specialized training in supporting students with differing abilities is an asset.
- Crisis prevention training, such as NVCI, is an asset.
- Autism Spectrum Disorder support, behavioural modification, or developmental disabilities training is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
