File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council (FHQTC) invites applications for the Executive Director of Finance and Administration (EDFA). This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing financial strategy, corporate services, and organizational performance across FHQTC and affiliated Touchwood File Hills Qu’Appelle (TFHQ) entities. Reporting to the Tribal Chief and/or Board of Directors, the EDFA provides decisive leadership that integrates financial stewardship, governance excellence, and operational effectiveness to support long-term growth and stability.

The EDFA will provide strategic direction to advance FHQTC’s vision, strengthen governance practices, and monitor performance outcomes.

Financial duties include directing all aspects of financial management, such as budgeting, forecasting, audits, and internal controls, while ensuring full compliance with financial policies and funding agreements.

Additionally, the role provides oversight of human resources functions and ensures efficient administrative systems across the organization.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline, with a CPA designation considered a strong asset.

Candidates require a minimum of seven (7) years of progressive senior leadership experience, ideally within a First Nations, public sector, or non-profit environment

An extensive background in financial management and a strong understanding of Indigenous governance, culture, and community priorities are highly valued
.
